The renovation and expansion project will allow the Dance and Theatre departments to share the resources of the new facility under one roof. Shop areas for scenery, stage props, costumes, painting, and metal work will further support these academic departments and their stage productions.

A new second floor addition consists of administrator and faculty offices as well as graduate student collaboration areas. Envisioned as a 21st Century theatre facility for the future and beyond, the renovated Maedgen Theatre celebrates digital technology with its ribbon wall enclosures. Not only is traditional physical scenery accommodated – but also immersive, projection scenery that envelops the audience chamber and offers to students a new horizon of possibilities.
