The new home of the Human Resources Service Center incorporates the design standards of the Marine Corps Base Miramar’s Exterior Architecture Plan while creating a building form that alludes to the combat and transport helicopters on the nearby flight line. It is an elegant reflection of the building’s function and place, utilizing concrete block, glass, and sleek metal accents to suggest the “uplift” of a helicopter’s wings while creating a gateway building near the base’s western entry.
