The project is located in a formerly industrial neighborhood in the heart of Old Pasadena near Colorado Street and the Del Mar light rail station. The area is experiencing a revitalization with a resurgence of multi-family housing and community amenities.

The City of Pasadena’s strict design requirements and review process demand that the project embrace the urban scale and pedestrian nature of the area. The building massing, windows, and exterior materials’ articulation respect the project’s context and establish a unique identity for each of the five buildings.

Cars are parked underground and priority is given to the pedestrian via close proximity to a light rail station and an intricate network of paseos and sidewalks that connects the community to Old Town and the rest of the Westgate complex.
