Steinberg Hart Wins Two AIA Pasadena & Foothill Design Awards

We are delighted to share that two Steinberg Hart projects were honored at the 2023 AIA Pasadena & Foothill Design Awards.

The AIA Pasadena & Foothill Design Awards celebrate design excellence and innovation, as well as provide an arena where architects are recognized by their peers for their effort and dedication to the profession.

The 37,000 SF Scott A. McGregor Computer Science Center received a Merit Award. The three-story academic building creates a new space for the school’s computer science program, a vibrant area for project-based learning, and a makerspace fosters opportunities for students to connect and co-create across disciplines. The Zero Net Energy building creates a new campus gateway to the College, connecting it with its surrounding community. With new cutting-edge educational spaces, a campus resource and innovation hub in a state-of-the-art makerspace, and social spaces for vibrant interaction and cross-disciplinary connections, the McGregor Center has fundamentally transformed the student experience.

The jury also awarded a Citation Award to University of La Verne Ludwick Center for Spirituality, Cultural Understanding, and Community Engagement. The 20,000 SF Ludwick Center brings together people from different backgrounds, religions, faiths, and traditions together, instilling a sense of shared community and common purpose that will extend across cultures, religions, and nations, to foster an atmosphere of collaboration. The Ludwick Center includes interfaith spiritual and meditative rooms, classrooms, a yoga and quiet room, offices, and space for collaboration, study, and work. “The Ludwick Center is emblematic of the university’s core values,” said Provost Jonathon Reed. “It is part of our effort to create a sense of belonging for all students at the University of La Verne.”
