Harvey Mudd College McGregor Computer Science Center named Best Higher Education / Research Project in Southern California by ENR California

Steinberg Hart and DPR Construction are proud to announce that ENR California has named our Harvey Mudd College Scott A. McGregor Computer Science Center as Southern California’s Best Higher Education / Research Project. The 36,000, 3-story building provides a much-needed new home for the college’s rapidly growing Computer Science Department. It also houses a permanent makerspace, open to all students at Harvey Mudd and across The Claremont Colleges.

Each year, ENR California assembles a group of judges, with varying specialties and expertise in the construction industry, to review, score and form a panel to determine Best Projects winners for the region of California and Hawaii. This annual awards program is dedicated to honoring the best construction projects and the companies that designed and built them. Projects compete in 20 specialized categories, ranging from airports to sports/entertainment. Judges independently review entries using five criteria, including:

  1. Overcoming Challenges & Teamwork
  2. Safety
  3. Innovation & Contribution to the Industry/Community
  4. Construction Quality & Craftsmanship
  5. Functionality of Design & Aesthetic Quality

Winning projects will be featured in the September/October issue of ENR California. Judges will choose a Project of the Year from the Best Project-level winners; the Project of the Year will be announced at the ENR California Regional Best Projects Awards in October.
