Tommie and Thompson Hotels win Los Angeles Business Council’s 52nd Annual Architectural Award of Excellence

Two of Steinberg Hart’s Hollywood hotels, Tommie and Thompson, have won the Los Angeles Business Council’s (LABC) 52nd Annual Architectural Award of Excellence in the Hospitality category. The projects were honored at an award ceremony in Beverly Hills, hosted by the LABC on December 1. The pair of Hollywood boutique hotels was recognized for their excellence in architectural design in hospitality.

“This year the LABC is honoring projects that exemplify a new model of architecture, one that not only excels in design and execution but also has a meaningful impact in their communities,” said Mary Leslie, president of the L.A. Business Council.

The Tommie and Thompson Hotels were selected from a group of 150 submissions for their inventive designs, amenities, and exemplification of architecture’s unique power to build community. Awards go to projects that embrace innovative design standards to enhance the way we live in Los Angeles.

Owned by Relevant Group and built by Suffolk, the two Hyatt hotels anchor the new Vinyl District in historic Hollywood. Thompson Hollywood is a luxurious new lifestyle hotel that brings a global sensibility, elevated service, and laidback California cool to the heart of Hollywood. The hotel features 190 guest rooms and 16 suites, a rooftop pool with sweeping views of Los Angeles, 15,000 square feet of event space, and a state-of-the-art fitness center. The Thompson’s sister hotel, Tommie, is a micro lifestyle hotel brand, designed to appeal to the modern spirited traveler looking for authenticity, originality, and convenience. tommie Hollywood offers 212 guestrooms across nine floors and more than 15,000 square feet of dynamic food and beverage space including KA’TEEN, the hotel’s feature restaurant by celebrated chef Wes Avila, and Desert 5 Spot, a 7,000-square-foot rooftop pool and lounge.

The pair of hotels have repeatedly been named among the best hotels in Hollywood since their opening in 2021.
