David Hart is the President and CEO of Steinberg Hart - an architecture, interiors, and planning firm with eight offices and a portfolio spanning higher education, residential, arts, hospitality, government, civic, and commercial markets.

Leading with curiosity and passion, David ensures that the firm's values of design, relationships, and change remain central to its practice. With a focus on Steinberg Hart's most complex projects, he encourages teams to challenge the ordinary and embrace innovation, transforming ideas into authentic, memorable spaces. This includes high-rise developments like Miro Towers, San Jose’s tallest residential structures, and transformative campus neighborhoods such as the Cal Poly Student Housing Program in San Luis Obispo, one of the largest student housing developments currently underway in the state and one of the largest modular developments in the country. Leveraging his experience working with public agencies, institutions, builders, and developers, he works to advance our firm's most complex projects with an emphasis on responsible density, affordability, community impact and value creation for clients.

Under David’s leadership, Steinberg Hart has strengthened its national presence, expanded its reach, and reinforced its mission to shape spaces that enhance communities and improve lives. He champions deep engagement with clients, partners, and communities, empowering his team to become trusted leaders and collaborators in the communities they serve. As a thought leader, David speaks regularly at conferences both nationally and locally, including Greenbuild, P3C, SCUP, Educause, and NACUBO, and he has been tapped by publications such as GlobeSt, Monocle, the Silicon Valley Business Journal, and Bloomberg CityLab for his insights on design and urban issues of our time. David serves on the ULI Urban Revitalization Council, the Fisher Center for Real Estate and Urban Economics Policy Advisory Board at UC Berkeley, SPUR Board of Directors, LA Business Council Board of Directors, the Texas Tech University Design Leadership Alliance, and the Silicon Valley Leadership Group.
